Our Clergy

Fr. Carl Lynn - Rector 
Fr. Carl Lynn has been involved in urban ministry and revitalization efforts for over two decades. In addition to serving as Rector of Church of the Reconciler CEC, Fr. Carl also serves as the Executive Director of Restoration Academy. RA is a non-for-profit private Christian school which seeks to provide a quality education to predominantly lower-income families in and around Fairfield. Fr. Carl received his English degree from Birmingham Southern College and his Masters in Educational Leadership from Covenant College. He, his wife Millie, and their seven children live in Fairfield and seek to bring holistic change and lasting hope to the community.

The Rev. Canon Terry Gensemer  - Former Rector

Canon Terry Gensemer’s Bio

Fr. Terry Gensemer served as the Rector of Christ CEC in Fairfield, Alabama. He is married to Patti and has 2 daughters, Shana and Merissa.  His expertise is in urban ministry, racial reconciliation, Hospice ministry and and Pro-life Youth work. He is also the Director of CEC (Charismatic Episcopal Church) For Life.  He has been in the pro-life movement for 15 years. As pastor of an urban church in Birmingham, Alabama, he was very active in citywide Pro Life activities.  In 2001, He became the leader of his denominations newly formed Pro-life Organization.   His ministry has been featured in New Man Magazine, SOLAS (Irish Pro-life Publication), The Guardian (British Newspaper), Christian Today (British Publication), Human Events, Family Voice (Publication of Concerned Women for America), along with many other national and local radio and television stations and news publications.

Prayer Ministries

Several prayer groups exist in the church, all with a different emphasis on communing with God and interceding on behalf of others in seeking His mercy, grace and favor for our Parish life.

Missions

Our concept of missions extends from our community to the ends of the earth. A variety of opportunities exist to reach people with the gospel message of Christ’s Kingdom.

 

Music Ministry

Opportunities are available for those gifted in music to praise and worship the Lord with the understanding of His very real and near presence in our services.

Nursery

 

This ministry to our little ones provides care during our Sunday service to these very important members of our parish.

 

Greeters/Ushers

This vital ministry is a major factor in welcoming visitors and making sure our worship service is comfortable in every way for all those in attendance.

 

Chalice Bearers

This ministry is for men and women to distribute the wine during the Eucharist.

 

Acolytes

For young people desiring to assist the clergy at the Altar during Communion.

 

Lay Readers

A ministry of men and women who read from the Holy Scriptures during every worship service.

 

Pro-Life

Our church is totally committed to the Sanctity of Life and offers numerous opportunities to build a culture of Life.

Duplication and distribution of Sunday sermons, Special teachings and musical recordings.
